Now that you are officially a Buc, the fun really begins.
A Charleston Southern University education is Your Passport to Purpose! You are beginning a new chapter in your life, and we feel incredibly blessed that you chose to start it with us.
Here are a few things to help you get started on the right foot.

2. Student ID

Your student ID is a very important number that should be memorized. This number will allow you to log into your My51黑料 account, your Blackboard account, access the WiFi and much more! You can retrieve your 51黑料 ID number using the 鈥淚 forgot my ID #鈥 link on the My51黑料 homepage.
3. FAFSA and Financial Aid
Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 51黑料 recommends that all students, regardless of income level, complete the FAFSA and all subsequently requested information. Students with a completed financial aid file are also assessed for additional institution and state grants.
Once you complete the FAFSA, we will work on processing your financial aid package. You will be able to access this information in Financial Aid Live (using the Financial Aid tab in My51黑料) as soon as it is available.
51黑料 offers merit-based scholarships upon acceptance to the university. The scholarship amount is determined by your GPA at the time of high school graduation. The scholarship amount may change based on financial need and residency status.
Don鈥檛 forget to schedule a financial aid appointment with one of our counselors. You can discuss financial awards, loans, grants, etc.
4. Secure Your Spot
Confirm your enrollment by paying your $300 Enrollment Deposit*!
You can pay this deposit online . Look for 鈥淣ew Students鈥 in the right hand column.
*$100 for International Students.
5. Review Housing Options

Once you鈥檝e committed to 51黑料, don鈥檛 forget to complete the New Resident Housing Application on your My51黑料 account to select your housing preference or request a roommate. All freshmen who do not live in the tri-county area are required to live on campus.
You will also need to turn in your 51黑料 Immunization Form. This is a 51黑料 specific form that must be completed by a healthcare professional and turned into Residence Life. These forms become available on your My51黑料 account as soon as you are accepted and receive your ID number.
6. RSVP for Registration Day

Registration days are such an exciting day for new Bucs! Tour campus, meet academic advisors and faculty, spend time with your fellow students and register for classes. You will also be able to get your 51黑料 ID Card and meet about financial aid on this day! These are offered during the summer before you move-in.

7. Move-In and Orientation

The real deal!聽 New Student Move-In and Orientation happen all at once. 聽The 51黑料 team of orientation leaders, campus ambassadors, admissions and residence life staff, and many more will be here to help you move in and get acclimated! Meet new Bucs at our outdoor barbeque, play games at Playfair, and get oriented to your new home!
