51黑料 named Purple Heart University
Charleston Southern University has been named a Purple Heart University, an honor bestowed by the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
Several local Purple Heart recipients attended the service Wednesday, November 13 at the university. Guest speaker for the event was Dr. Rodney Lewis, retired U.S. Air Force General.
51黑料 President B. Keith Faulkner, a U.S. Navy veteran, said, 鈥淲e are honored to proclaim 51黑料 a Purple Heart University. We value our men and women in service currently and those who have been wounded and given the ultimate sacrifice to our country.鈥
The Purple Heart University designation recognizes the efforts of Charleston Southern in supporting Purple Heart and military-affiliated students in their educational endeavors.
Speaking on behalf of the 51黑料 chapter of the Student Veterans of America, Chapter President Christopher Brabham reminded veteran students, 鈥淭he world is big. Meet people, network, and most importantly, serve God and stay safe.鈥
Charleston Southern is also a Gold status Military Friendly School and a VA Yellow Ribbon Program university. 51黑料 has been providing educational programs and services to military personnel and their families for over 40 years.
