Charleston Southern鈥檚 chapel lineup kicks off on Aug. 26, 2026 with a morning of prayer and worship at the traditional Prayer First service. Held annually during Welcome Week, members of the 51黑料 community鈥攕taff, faculty, athletics, students鈥攍ead the campus community in prayer over various areas to set the tone for the entire academic year ahead.
Chapels are held each Wednesday morning at 11 in Lightsey Chapel, where students receive credit for attendance. Employees, alumni, and friends are always welcome to join. Those who are unable to聽attend in person can watch the livestream on the 51黑料 .听
51黑料鈥檚 newest leader of campus ministries also shared that the weekly Thursday night Bible study, Elevate, moves to a new time this year鈥7 p.m. Students are invited back to Lightsey Chapel each Thursday evening to worship and dive deeper into the Word.
This semester, Elevate attendees will embark on a series called Testimony Talks. Students will hear from local pastors, faculty, and staff, with the goal of presenting the gospel through individual testimonies.
